I have worked professionally as a photographer for many years.  Having previously worked as a press & sports photojournalist for the UK national press and in PR / advertising photography, I have always had a passion for the oceans and have dived since I was 9. I decided to make the move to working professionally underwater some years ago. Now, I work above and below the water for various clients with still and moving image.

Commercial clients have ranged from The Guardian, The Times, The Washington Post, New York Times, filming Americas Next Top Model underwater, Rough Guides, SCUBA Diver magazine, Dive magazine as well as various other national and international publications. I have also contributed to a number of marine conservation documentaries focusing on Sharks and Manta Rays.

I work heavily in marine conservation, having founding the Gili Shark Foundation in Lombok, Indonesia as well as working for various other marine conservation organisations either on location or shooting / donating imagery to them.

All images on this site were taken commercially on assignment for different clients. I am available for commission and all jobs are considered, worldwide.

All commission, print and licensing enquiries should be made to iam@stevewoodsunderwater.com
